Ranch Wedding Attire

Over Labor Day Weekend, the May clan had the honor of traveling to Ketchum, Idaho to witness the wedding of a childhood friend. Mitch was best man, but although the rest of us took our ranch wedding fashion just as seriously. We had to find outfits to complement the natural landscape, and obviously have our own mini photo shoot while the Bridal Party was doing the same. Below are our favorites and breakdowns of where you can find or replicate our outfits.

Caroline's outfit, left, came together last-minute with the addition of this barn blanket topper from Target. The LBLD (Little Black Lace Dress) has a raw hem at the top and sleeves and has been worn many times since. It was a GREAT (and cheap!) find from Modcloth

Caroline kept accessories simple with a ranch-appropriate Leighelena cuff and brassy bauble bar ear jackets. The boots are Lucchese with red accent stitching and the lipstick is Chanel's classic red. She would argue that the lipstick was the most important component of her outfit, and the picture I shot below makes me agree.

My outfit, right, also came together at the last minute. Fortunately, my taste runs pretty consistently along a slightly Boho line, so layering the pieces came together fairly seamlessly.

The dress is a simple shift dress from urbanoutfitters.com. The fabric has some texture and is lined, so it lays well. I added another two layers for warmth - a definite requirement in the mountains of Idaho.

On top is a Shawl/Kimono purchased from Macy's. Fortunately for me (unfortunately for readers) it was straight off the clearance rack. So, it's unavailable to purchase online or in stores.

The necklaces are actually two separate pieces both from Macy's. The shorter one is the Lucky Brand Gold-Tone Curved Bar Multi-Row Necklace, which is a muted gold tone and has 3 layers to itself.  The second, longer necklace features a brick-toned fringe on the bottom layer. It's called the M. Haskell Gold-Tone Multi-Bead Red Tassel Necklace. They both had the same feel (like they'd fit in among teepees) and paired perfectly with each other.

To complete the look (and save myself from more cold), I added black tights and stole a pair of brown suede cowboy boots from my mom.
