Definition: (noun) A bathing technique used by prostitutes between clients, cleaning only the necessary areas with damp towels.
Usage: not appropriately used in mixed company, or on street corners late at night. Fair warning is really required for any type of usage.
Origination: Before most of us were born, and we would have liked it to stay there.
Obviously the "old" purpose of this decidedly non-PC term was to rid a prostitute of the scents and other non-mentionables from previous clients and to prepare themselves for the next job. But today, could it be akin to girls spraying their hair with dry shampoo or applying baby powder to forgo showering after a late night? Did it even get a mainstream shoutout in the series premiere of Homeland?
I hope to come up with a better term that's a little less shameful. We've all been guilty of quickly freshening up after a late night that needed a hot shower. Maybe our new term will be a play on the "shacker." I'm actually surprised a catchy new term hasn't surfaced yet. Whatever it is, it's got to be better than "twerking."
If you're wondering how I stumbled across such off putting terminology, you can credit one of my co-workers from my last construction site in Oklahoma. He used this term to describe his recent bathing techniques as his pipes were frozen, preventing him from taking a solid bath for more than a week. Why he decided to share such nonsense (or thought I might relate) I'll never know and might want to re-assess.
