MASAI AFRICAN TRIBE PAINTING
During my volunteer program in Tanzania, I paired up with a local painter who taught me new painting tricks using limited tools, from which I created this black and white painting showing the village of the Masai Tribe.
Uncertain Girl
Inspired by my own uncertainty about my career, although one of my first large pieces, this one remains one of my favorites. It uses just four colors to create a lot of depth and feelings wrapped up into one piece.
Birch Tree Forest
This painting represents my venture into landscapes, blending my favorite abstract strokes with a distinctive landscape scene. The result is a depth of landscape which cannot be done justice without viewing the painting in person, but for this, a photo will have to do.
Just a Cow
Playing on bright colors to move the eye across the form changes a typically monochromatic scene into ones that pops off the page.
Converse Shoes
Taking another simple form, starting with it's standard colors then adding the pop of green to increase depth and dimension.
Baby Name Art
Combing my other love of woodworking with painting, this name art was created for my nephew and showcases the balance of colors with a depth created by handcuffing the lettering from separate pieces of wood.
